Initiated by an institutional mandate to design a professional training course for a pioneering collective of “Reinforced Shark Lookouts” (VRR) on Réunion Island, this technological research study aimed to highlight and model the shared guiding principles and distinctive features of their ordinary activity. Anthropocultural collective action theory was chosen to identify the rules of this emerging profession (Bertone 2011; Bertone et Chaliès 2015; Chaliès 2012). The synoptic view modeling the language games (Wittgenstein 2004) of VRRs showed variability/instability in the actions performed, which became the focus of attempts to reach agreement during dialogues conducted in self-confrontation interviews.
