The notion of form of life is actually found in various theoretical contexts – Critical Theory, Wittgenstein, biopolitics, study of styles of life and anthropology of life. It makes possible to think of new forms of criticism and ethics in a world affected by global change and radicalization of social, health and environmental inequalities. Beyond the vulnerability of the forms of (the) human life, sprung in situations of disaster or bareness, the concept of forms of life has also developed at the articulation of the social and the life, to describe the various ways of doing inventiveness and creating new forms of life. The purpose of this presentation is to report on the ongoing transformation of the use of this concept in areas such as work, social criticism or social innovation, as well as place where new forms of democratic life are experimenting.
