Journalists and anthropologists both invite us to pay more attention to the value of native ways of life and to the violence they face. What are native people telling the Brazilian and worldwide leaders? Four texts were selected as a sample: a farewell letter addressed by the Xingu Movement to Dilma Roussef, who initiated the Belo Monte dam which destroyed their land; an open letter by the leaders of the Tupinamba people to the Brazilian and world leaders against the looting of their territory; a list of advice for respectful and ecological forms of behavior published by an alliance of native people, caring for Mother Nature, during the 2015 Paris Conference on climate change; a meditation by a member of the Kirapalan association from the Altamira village on an efficient form of resistance against new forms of violence.
