The productive city (la ville productive), beyond the industrial factory, is now the territory of life AND work in the post-Fordist era. Multitudes of the precarious and intermittents are producing the city by new forms of life, desires, experimentation, and innovation, creating non-functional noises for the power institutions. From Paris to Rio, via Buenos Aires, we seek to question the conflicting relationships that are fundamentally biopolitical in nature, between the control of urban spaces by the power institutions and the subjective appropriations of the city’s territories by multitudes, constituent of new forms of democracy.
