This text, with an introduction by Hervé Duchêne, is a transcript of the original manuscript of an article published in Italian in Giornale d’Italia, in December 1910. Commenting on the weakness of the arguments of catholic critics against Orpheus: A general history of religions, Sorel gave his own analysis of the importance and the significance of S. Reinach’s work.
