About
Philosopher Paul-Michel Foucault (1926-1984), known as Michel Foucault, was active in the French Communist Party for several years, working closely with Louis Althusser, who prepared him for the agrégation in philosophy (which he obtained in 1951). In 1961, he published Madness in the Classical Age (Plon); in 1966, he published The Order of Things (Gallimard).
