Mathieu Boche is an agro-economist, Ingénieur en Chef des Ponts, des Eaux et Forêts and holds a doctorate in development economics. He is currently an expert on land issues at the Agence française de développement and a member of the editorial board of the journal Afrique Contemporaine.
