Alain Roussillon† was an associate professor of Arabic, sociologist and director of research at the CNRS. He directed the Centre Jacques-Berque in Rabat (CJB) and the CEDEJ, Cairo (2005-2007). His publications include La pensée islamique contemporaine (Paris: Téraèdre, 2005, with F-Z. Zryouil), Être femme en Égypte, au Maroc et en Jordanie, Paris, Aux lieux d'être, 2006.
