People have more and more reason to educate themselves throughout the lifespan. At the same time, ICT has become increasingly widespread in the private and professional spheres. In this context, acquiring skills for using ICT at home can become a professional asset. This paper proposes a model of analysis which explains how such individual learning, occurring in a private setting, can be transferred to a professional context. In this model, based on a literature review of learning theories in organizations and on empirical data, we consider the process of learning transfer/reconstruction in the form of a structured continuum, with frequent moving back and forth between contexts and conditions guiding learning from one stage to the next.
