The Christological teaching of Cardinal Lustiger, without being systematic, offers a real theological programme. The memory of the Shoah urges us to get back to the roots of the tradition (participation in the election, knowledge of the Scriptures, universality of the mission); the permanence of Israel opens up to the fulfilment of the Law in Jesus; Jesus is prophecy and fulfilment of the prophecies.
