Despite its proximity to the cypherpunk field, the cryptocurrency sector hasn’t always been true to its anarchist values, capitalist finance investing ever more in cryptocurrencies to appropriate these new financial products. This ambiguity is reflected in DAOs, this new form of governance created by blockchain technology. This decentralized governance is in fact both an experiment in radical, even if asocial, democracy, and a return to a plutocracy that can hide the violence of its decisions through the automatism of computer mechanisms.
