Rejected from wealthy countries, migrants have developed new economic initiatives along three distinct circulatory territories, where they enact a form of globalization of the poor, with the help of the population from the Maghreb they meet in European cities. Bulgaria is a keystone of the third network, due to its well-established relations with Syria. This article narrates the exodus of thirty Syrians surprised not to find enough opportunities in Bulgaria, but taking advantage of relatives’and friends’help, weaving new transnational relations along the way.
