English
Mostly unwelcomed, illegal migrants are subjected to contradictory demands, which expects them to be both invisible and yet duly documented. In order to be translated into rights, their presence needs to be « proven » by salary sheets, even if they are legally forbidden to work. Devoid of any « aura » or of any « punctum », this form of presence—perceived as foreign—is designed to be experienced as a punishment.
