The confrontation between development-oriented policies and Amerindian claims to control their resources led to the emergence of new international agents, very different from the socialist struggles of the past. In Bolivia, a new constitution calls for the right to Buen Vivir in a comunautarian democracy respectful of minorities. In Venezuela, the Yanomamis fight against extractivist powers and propose an alliance to all the friends of the forest, organizing nomadic Indian townhouses.
