Our media have (at least) two different functions: to exchange “information,” but also to put us in a “communication” situation, i.e., to set up a form of primary and primal communion. To communicate is to set in common, within a participative collective hypnosis or trance, where we tend to dilute within a world of waves, rather than exchange in a world of individuals.
