Recent uprisings by Canadian students do not only occupy streets. They also stimulate the emergence of alternative models of democracy, like “liquid democracy,” which regularly calls for popular votes on important issues (in the form of referendum, for instance), allowing for people to delegate their voting rights to someone else. Something to awaken our sleeping democracies?
