Interest in adopting sustainable and responsible practices within organizations has grown considerably in recent years, due to environmental changes and stakeholder pressures. The agri-food sector is particularly impacted by these issues, due to resource depletion and worsening climatic conditions. With the global population rising, there is a real risk that we will be unable to feed the entire population in the future, even as food loss and waste continues to increase. Today, we need to propose and develop new models to curb this phenomenon.

This study focuses on the bulk distribution model and its ability to reduce food waste and packaging waste. Based on a case study, we highlight the issues and constraints associated with this distribution model, while presenting various forms of innovation related to this approach. This study contributes to sustainability research by focusing on food waste and exploring the potential of bulk distribution to reduce it. It also provides indications on how innovations can be implemented in a responsible and sustainable way.
