The recurrence of the issue of pedophilia in the Church raises questions about a way of operating that involves a high degree of discretion and secrecy. We cannot move forward merely by relying on our own strength. We should encourage victims to speak and, quite frankly, to accept the need to rely on other authorities in order to tackle these painful issues.
