The Insecurity/Homelessness Unit at Saint-Denis Hospital provides multidisciplinary care for homeless pregnant women, many of whom are recent immigrants to France and living in isolation. It seeks to support the mental journey of welcoming a newborn baby and to prevent the consequences for the child of a multi-traumatic family history in a context of growing socio-economic difficulties, which also affect public hospitals. For the women, this encounter is often an unprecedented experience.
