From the issues raised on family practices, we choose to examine child-rearing acts from the parental point of view. The article will analyse child-rearing acts data that are collected through observations. Each child is video recorded at home in interaction with both parents in two separate every day situations (free play and meal-time). The aim is to determine the structure of the main behavioural components of the acts (position, movements, facial expression, look, intonation, verbalisation) carried out by both parents upon their child in daily interactions. The article will then go on to examine methods and both selected situations. The methods applied enable us to get a detailed analysis of the main structures and to identify the essential components of child-rearing acts.
