Creative emancipation
Feminism thinks
In collaboration with CNRS Éditions
This interview looks back at Geneviève Fraisse's philosophical approach, born in the effervescence of May 68 and the Women's Liberation Movement. It highlights her original contribution to women's history as a philosopher, her interest in the genealogical logics of emancipation, and her insistence on the historicity of gender relations. Her work focuses on the political epistemology of feminist thought.
Geneviève Fraisse is a philosopher, director of research emeritus at the CNRS. She is the author of numerous works on the genealogy of democracy, concepts of civic and artistic emancipation and the problematization of the sex/gender object. Among them, Le féminisme, ça pense ! (2023) and L'égalité sans retour (2024) published by CNRS Éditions.
