Ce débat animé par Muriel Le Roux réunit des professionnelles des Postes française (Muriel Barnéoud), espagnole (Elena Fernández Rodríguez) et turque (Candan Şenyüz). Dans ces échanges, elles cherchent à mettre en lumière les différents défis qui structurent la réalité genrée de leur profession, des inégalités salariales au plafond de verre en passant par les pressions hiérarchiques et l’impact de la charge mentale sur la construction de leur carrière. Le texte qui suit oscille entre une perspective sociologique et des témoignages personnels qui incarnent ces réalités, afin d’offrir un point de vue transnational sur les difficultés éprouvées par les femmes dans les métiers de la Poste.Muriel Le Roux: A few studies in history, sociology and anthropology have established that, in France, the feminization of the Post Office, which has been taking place since the beginning of the 20th century, did not lead to professional equality between men and women, although the feminization was unprecedented and spectacular. During the 20th century, men occupied managerial and supervisory jobs in technical, mobile and/or outside technical services – in particular delivery and transport services, telecommunication lines and facilities services. As expected, women’s positions were at the bottom of the hierarchical ladder: there were very few women managers, and they have only accessed these positions since the 1930s. Women thus had subordinate positions that they only held in general and administrative services, which are services that predominantly offer sedentary jobs…
