Éric Derennes holds a doctorate in history from the University of Paris-Ouest Nanterre La Défense. A former fellow of the École française de Rome, he is currently researching the forms of expression of popular royalism in the 19th century. He has published: "Les légitimistes, le roi et l'Empire (ca. 1852-1870).
