The conflict in the Middle East seems to have been imported intentionally by a part of the French community who is generally composed of people from the Muslim minority, who are of North African ancestry. This minority feels truly committed to this conflict. On the other side, the French Jewish community unconditionally recognises itself in the Israeli cause although not in Israel’s policy. However, a very small minority of people have found it appropriate to express their solidarity with the Palestinians through hostile acts against the Jews of France. This violent side of the imported conflict is one of the elements of the new anti-Semitism, which endangers the fundamental values of the French republic.
