Convivialism as a political and social project can be an answer to the general democratic malaise, namely in northern countries. Yet realising the potentiality of the convivialist project requires that many conditions first be met. Among these, the most urgent is probably the leaving aside of generalised oppositional and catastrophic stances. Convivialism will never sport the standard of future desires without questioning such purely negative voices. Similarly, Convivialism will never be able to transcend the prevailing gloominess if it does not accept to become the vehicle for the re-establishment of societies’ confidence as to their capacities to accomplish desirable changes.
