This article studies the famous book of Adolf von Harnack on The Essence of Christianity written more than a century ago. Its objective is to bring out the most crucial aspects developed by the author and to understand the intentions and the ideological lines of Harnack. This book, which has marked its era and even beyond, is tinged with anti-Semitism ideology enveloped in obvious theological notions.
