This article is based on semi-directive interviews done with 16 women offering escort services. Most are or have been independent escorts and many of them also have an experience as erotic dancer or masseuse, as well as agency escort. The article presents and discusses the results regarding their motivations to enter the sex industry, their experience of work environments and working conditions, the impact of their work on love relationships and their drug or alcohol consumption. Concerning these aspects, their work path appears to be rather similar to the one they would have had in any other employment sector, the main difference being of more difficult relationships.
