Patrick Baudouin provides a summary of the main points discussed by the speakers at the symposium organised by iReMMO at the French Senate in February 2023, outlining the various forms of international criminal justice, such as the ICC, ad hoc tribunals and universal jurisdiction procedures. He draws particular attention to the contradictions in France’s refusal to lift the “locks” of the August 9th, 2010, law, which severely restrict the ability of French courts to prosecute war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide. He concludes by asserting his determination to fight for the immediate recognition of justice in the Ukrainian war to be extended to other conflicts “wherever impunity prevails, and without any selectivity”.
