Professor Emerita of Psychiatry at Brown University Medical School, where she teaches cognitive therapy; she has received two teaching awards. She is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania. She was trained in cognitive therapy by Aaron T. Beck, and in schema therapy by Jeffrey E. Young.
