L’article se propose de décrire les réformes institutionnelles de l’École des Beaux-Arts d’Athènes durant la première moitié du 20e siècle ainsi que d’analyser les effets de l’introduction récente à l’École de la recherche doctorale en art afin d’avancer l’hypothèse qu’à travers ces changements politiques, pratiques et théoriques d’une importance cruciale se réalise une transition depuis un modèle d’« artiste créateur » moderne vers un modèle d’« artiste chercheur » contemporain.

The Athens School of Fine Arts: From institutional reform to doctoral research in art – a case study
The article aims to describe the institutional reforms of the Athens School of Fine Arts during the first half of 20th century as well as to analyze the effects of the recent introduction of doctoral research in art at the School in order to advance the hypothesis that through these crucial political, practical and theoretical changes a transition from the model of the modern “creative artist” to the model of the contemporary “artist researcher” is achieved.
