Résumé
Cet article a pour objectif de faire état des tendances récentes dans la réflexion historienne consacrée à la nationalisation et à la privatisation des entreprises, en particulier en Europe occidentale. D’abord, il résume les communications données lors d’un récent colloque consacré à ce sujet. Puis il propose quelques hypothèses et pistes de recherche, notamment sur l’impact de la mondialisation dans les choix à effectuer entre les secteurs public et privé, et sur les mérites respectifs des deux secteurs.
Nationalisations and denationalisations: a historical perspective
Abstract
This article makes a survey of the recent tendencies in historical research relating to nationalisation and privatisation, especially in Western Europe. First, it summarises the papers given in a recent conference dealing with this subject. And then it offers some hypotheses and suggestions of research, notably on the impact of globalisation on the choices to be made between private and public sectors, and on the respective merits of both sectors.
